Seeds of Destruction – Server Firsts

Although beating Crystallos, Lair of the Awakened was an incredible achievement it is somewhat tainted by the fact that we did it after a new expansion was released. Which means higher levels, more AAs and more opportunities to create positive situations for us. This however is not the case as we work in events in Seeds of Destruction. This of course is bittersweet as the events that we encounter in Seeds of Destruction are of considerable difficulty for our raid makeup, yet we find ways to overcome. We started out early in the expansion claiming two early Server Firsts (Stop the Ascension and Queen Malarian). Soon after we turned our attention back towards Crystallos, Lair of the Awakened. Now that Crystallos, Lair of the Awakened is defeated it meant it was time to return to Seeds of Destruction. Entering into the Tier4 Raids (Korafax, Home of the Riders) we started our work on the events that lay before us. We have not encountered too much of a difficulty… yet.

October 28, 2008. The Alliance vs. Blackburrow Gnolls. Server First!

November 11, 2008. The Alliance vs. Queen Malarian. Server First!

December 9, 2008. The Alliance inside Bloody Kithicor. By far the worst event that I have ever encountered in EverQuest.

January 11, 2009. The Alliance exploring inside Korafax, Home of the Riders. Server First!

January 11, 2009. The Alliance vs. Pallorax the Soul Slayer. Server First!

Crystallos, Lair of the Awakened – Secrets of Faydwer Completed

In two days Dol Amroth and Echoes in Eternity defeated seven of ten bosses in Crystallos, Lair of the Awakened – all for the first time. Vyskurda was the next event that waited for us, and we took our time working on the event. Due to the holidays and flagging numbers we couldn’t field strong attempts until roughly three weeks after our initial entrance into Crystallos, Lair of the Awakened. Once we had the staff to do the event it quite simply was easy. Overall its an incredible event that requires intense planning and understanding from a large core of your member base. Mixed in was the requirement as a Raid Leader to balance your needs for high damage output, tanking/off tanking and healing for what is an extended event. All in all though we simply performed smoothly.

September Killing..

Well it’s been an interesting couple of weeks. We started out with a very large goal of getting to Meldrath the Malignant dead by this time, and I am very proud to say that we did it. We could certainly have done it sooner, but we made a couple foolish strategy moves against him.

Our first kill came against Seneschal Bargangle Tinkerson on August 31st, 2008. Although hes proven interesting since then we have made a few minor modifications and are now killing him with ever increasing ease.

After less then 24 hours of working on Tactical Prototype XXVII he died too, that was the biggest accomplishment in my mind. Since then we have had minimal amounts of difficulty on him as well.

Bloodmoon 3 was done on a night to just change things up a little bit. After working for extended times in Meldrath’s Majestic Mansion it was time for a change of scenery. Another first kill..

Then came the boss himself. After beating 5 of 6 Meldrath’s Majestic Mansion mobs on Sunday we came back on Monday for Meldrath the Malignant himself. It was a very smooth, and very sweet victory.
